The College of Medical Sciences is a medical center in Bharatpur, Chitwan, Nepal. It enrolls about 100 students in the MBBS degree course each year. The private center is affiliated with Kathmandu University, Nepal, and is fully recognized by the Nepal Medical Council.

Located in the heart of Nepal, the center prides itself on its state of the art infrastructure, world-class architecture, and educated and knowledgeable technology. Of the 100 registered students, 20% of the students were nominated by the Nepalese government. All the other students paid for themselves. Nepalese-funded students are selected by Kathmandu University’s Medical Entrance Examination competition.

The College of Medical Sciences has students from various regions of Nepal, India, and SAARC. The college is fully equipped with a library of more than 20,000 books and more than 17,000 medical journals. In addition to academics, the college also focuses on the health and fitness of its students which offers opportunities for recreational activities such as yoga and gym, indoor and outdoor sports for all development.

Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery | MBBS

  • Intake Seats – 115
  • Duration – 4 ½ Years + One Year Compulsory Rotating Internship.
  • Eligibility – Citizenship | Nepal | For resident Nepalese students this will be after the Kathmandu University Entrance | KUMET which will be held in August every year.
  • Indian nationals | MBBS | NEET 2018 and International Candidates.
  • Date of Birth | Minimum 17 Years And Maximum 25 Years.
  • Qualification | Pass in 10+2, A level, IB, American 12th grade or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English individually with a minimum of 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Biotechnology took together. The minimum marks required for the admission should be 50% in PUC (PCB) or any other equivalent examination for the candidates of General Category.
  • Eligibility for Napalese students | Admissions for self-financed Nepalese students are admitted through Kathmandu University’s written medical entrance test (KUMET) held during June/July. The Kathmandu University (KU calls for applications in June-July each year. The advertisements appear in prominent National Dailies. Successful candidates are put on 3 merit lists – A, B & C. The DMCRI invites merit candidates from A.B.C lists for an interview, after which another merit list is drawn up and the admissions are based on this DMCRI merit list.

 

Eligibility for MBBS in Nepal

Completed 17 years of age, and Completed 10+2 years of education or Intermediate of Science or equivalent, with English, Biology, Physics, and Chemistry as main subjects and he/she must have passed in all the subjects mentioned above, securing not less than 50% of marks in the subjects mentioned above put together and also obtain an aggregate of 50% overall.

Completed a B.Sc. degree recognized by the university with one of the following subjects viz. Physics, Chemistry, Biology and at least one other prescribed science subject of study up to the ancillary level and he/she should have scored not less than the aggregate of 50% marks; provided that such candidate shall have passed the earlier qualifying examination (10+2 or an equivalent examination) with the subjects

  • Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English.
  • Candidate should be qualified under NEET-UG
  • The students must be studied in the English medium or at least they had English as a subject.
  • Valid Indian passport and no visa required.
  • Valid MCI certificate

The College of Medical Sciences Admission Process

  • Nepal Medical Commission Conducts an Entrance Exam for MBBS admission in all affiliated Colleges.
  • Exam will be conducted in January 2021.
  • Students including Indians must appear and qualify in this exam to get admission to any of these Colleges.
  • Colleges are under Tribhuwan University, Kathmandu University, and BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences. Which was recognized by WHO and National Medical Commission (India).
  • Qualified students will get MBBS admission in colleges.
